Ravel “Alborada del Gracioso” arrangement by Elaine Douavs:

Dear Friends,

I am excited to announce that my arrangement of Ravel’s ”Alborada del Gracioso” for Oboe and Piano is now available for purchase online at Trevco-Varner Music. This is the most fun piece I have ever played – I love imitating the pizzicato strings, swirling flutes, muted trumpets triple-tonguing, and the soulful bassoon playing the “Jester’s soliloquy”. It is my pleasure to share it with all of you. Many thanks to Trever Cramer for making this possible! Here is my rendition along with pianist Hsiang John Tu, who worked with me on the arrangement. (Interlochen, 2012.) The fake triple-tonguing always creates a stir in the audience!
